Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole child from Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. The mother of the child was home as a mother. Michael Dennis Kevin is her older brother. She has three siblings. McCormick began dancing and singing at an early age and often performed plays with puppets for children in her area. At the age 6, McCormick won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire if the actress would be looking to pursue a career in show business. McCormick was hired to star in her debut major role in 1964 in a tv commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she starred in the role of Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for the show Wind It up and It's Broken by The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the part of the oldest daughter in the three towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a brand new family. The show lasted for five years. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick told of how in the fifth season of the show, she was close to losing her the love of her life to her sister Barry Williams. In 2008, McCormick disclosed in her book Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice that during season five of the show, she nearly lost her virginity to Barry Williams. The timing would not have been ideal for us, she informed me.
